Shirodhara is a Sanskrit word and individually, shiro means head and dhara means flow. This Ayurvedic therapy involves the gentle pouring of medicated liquids over your forehead. The choice of liquid depends on the reason for the treatment and includes many options such as oil, milk, buttermilk, coconut water, and plain water.

It is one of the main steps of the Panchakarma treatment.

Shirodhara is helpful in the treatment of a wide variety of conditions including sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, neurological disorders, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, insomnia and so on. It is also an effective treatment for certain types of skin diseases such as psoriasis. It is one of the best rejuvenating therapies in Ayurveda.
